The Sassy Girl

For those who hate browsing the soft-copy of a dictionary, Sassy is an adjective used to describe a subject as a Rude and Disrespectful yet adorable, Lively Spirited, Jaunty, Stylish person who’d show impudence with almost every demand he/she makes. After seeing the movie “My Sassy Girl”, a Korean movie supposedly based on a true story, I genuinely believed that such Sassy Girls could never exist and the script was based on nothing but mundane fiction. But now I’d reiterate my thought in a slightly different way because now I’ve met a girl, or rather a Sassy girl, who defies all myths and illusions to strongly corroborate that an Indian Girl can be sassier than some Korean-Fiction-Movie-Chick.

When you talk of peculiarities in a person, you generally allure that there are only a few of those in the person. But when I talk of the Girl, who’s the subject of the Blog, the peculiarities become more prominent and pleonastic than the normal attributes that a “normal” girl would have. However somehow even with a plethora of these peculiarities, the Girl manages to remain pretty normal, convivial and extremely garrulous. With very limited interaction with the girl I am sure I haven’t explored every nook and corner of the versatile persona she has but I would like to list a few facets of her personality that would qualify as really interesting peculiarities in her.

1. She hates being called a “Ladki”. Of course she is always a bully and condescends all the people around her with her very typical “BHAI” like attitude but COM ‘on she’s a Girl after all. What’s wrong in being called a Girl when you're a proud member of the sorority community of the very planet. Her “Tomboyish” or rather “Boyish” attitude surely makes her very jovial and congruous to the group she’s with but the interesting part is that when she seldom behaves in an effeminate manner, she becomes a lot more adorable or rather tolerable.
2. In terms of Intellect, Wit and Wisdom too, she has two contrasting sides. She can understand people well, tactfully solve banausic problems and wisely plan intricate things to a decent level of efficacy. And contrarily, she can also act very childish getting excited for things which wouldn’t even pump an extra drop of blood from a 5 year old kid's heart. She can exclaim delightfully saying “SAHI HAI” after seeing things as simple and clumsy as a ‘flexuous road’, ‘a triangular shape object’, ‘University number-plate on a car’ and ‘Uncooked- Colorful Vegetables’.
3. She has a habit of making horrible jokes and reciting anecdotes from her daily and past life which she thinks make a funny and interesting causerie. The sad part is that the stories and jokes are horrible but the Interesting part is that she’s better off uttering non-sense like those rather than staying calm and quite, which eventually makes the ambience lively and jovial somehow. Besides no matter how much of criticism you chastise on her, she’ll come up with an even worse Joke.
4. Physically she’s not a strong Girl. It wouldn’t take a lot of horsepower from a storm to blow her off the ground. But that doesn’t limit her audacity which is exhibited in her Driving (several hours in a stretch with/without hiatuses in between), Hiking(wearing slippers and blatantly declining any help from anyone), Biking(clicking photos simultaneously) and leading an independent life(of course taking help every now and then).
5. She can be a harsh critic at times remorselessly blasting someone off right at the face without caring if it’d hurt him/her. But then, she also can do favors and edulcorate her speech just to keep someone’s heart and not even mention it.
6. She remembers lots of stuff about people ranging from complex Family Histories to simple current happenings in his/her life. But then, she’s never inquisitive about knowing about someone’s life. She keeps most of her conversation one-way reciting her anecdotes, her stories and her jokes making her the freakiest boring person to ever step on this hallowed planet.

There a lot of other things which I hate skipping because the inclusion would make this Blog a Biographical one. A more elaborated description would obfuscate a person about her character very much like a child in a topless bar. However to give a nutshell ‘The Sassy Girl’ is someone you’d prefer not being with but still feel her absence when she’s not around.

of course there're a few things in common and that's why I chose the title "The Sassy Girl". BTW I'm glad there's someone who's seen the movie apart from me and a few of my friends.

It's an honor to have your comment Mr. Bagchi. I am not much of a writer and don't really think much about the compostion and style while I'm writing. Lekin agli baar se, I'll make sure that I use very few of those 'fancy' words.
